Fairhope is an excellent place to raise a family and/or retire. Friendly, safe, low taxes and beautifully nestled on Mobile Bay. Close enough to major cities but surrounded by calm, happy and peaceful. ...Read More

opportunity to support each other.
The school system is amazing. Fairhope Public Schools give students quality educations as well as numerous extracurricular activities to become involved in. My mother has been a second grade teacher at Fairhope Elementary School for over 10 years and has seen many of her students succeed after graduation.
The downside to Fairhope is that it is a rather pricey area. Taxes are high, homes are expensive and rent can be high compared to other areas in Baldwin County.
Fairhope is located right on Mobile Bay. The prices are worth it if you can afford the area and do go back into the community for holiday events, art walks and other local necessities.
The shops and restaurants within Downtown Fairhope are somewhat limited, especially after 5pm and on Sundays. Many other restaurants and shopping areas are open within city limits, but are not easily accessed by foot or public transit. The BRATS bus system is better than it used to be, but still improving.
The crime rate is low. The police are friendly and helpful.
Overall, Fairhope is a wonderful area to live in as long as you can afford the cost of living. The experience of growing up in Fairhope is one I will always remember!
