Stratford is a family oriented municipality, perfect to raise your children and settle in for a long time. The school system is one of the best in Connecticut including after school programs for younger children. Because of its close proximity to larger towns, Stratford's location is convenient to the nearby malls, theaters, shops and fine dining spots. Stratford is located only 60 miles from New York City, which can be easily accessed by train, highway I-95 or the scenic route of the Merritt Parkway.

Most of the local population is employed at the Sikorsky Aircraft plant in Stratford, which is an internationally known helicopter manufacturer. This town is also very inclined to receive new small business owners to increase the employment rate and population. Local commerce owners have created very close-knit community and network of support with each other. Stratford's officials maintain good relationship with the residents and the workforce alike. Many visitors find the historic appearance of Stratford charming. The town will soon be celebrating its 400th anniversary and many preparations are already in progress. Due to the community beautification plan, many new construction jobs have been created, therefore the unemployment rate in Stratford is low.

Numerous Stratford families belong to the Mill River Country Club situated by the picturesque Housatonic River. The club offers wide variety of activities for the entire family. Golf, swimming, charitable events, summer programs for children of all ages, are just a few that should be mentioned.
