ably priced. Most of the restaurants in the area were chain establishments, although when we visited the La Hacienda Mexican restaurant we were very surprised by the authentic tasting Mexican food as well as the delicious margaritas.
Everyone in the town of Port Arthur was very friendly, and the city was clean. There were a lot of little shops here and there, most of them selling touristy items, such as figurines made of shells, but others were more for local shoppers. One of the best experienced we had while there was visiting The Palms at Pleasure Island, which was a lot of fun for an adult crowd. The Museum of the Gulf Coast was also quite a treat, and provided more information and history than I expected, it was also very well organized and clean, and a great way to spend a few hours in the afternoon.
