It has consistently been considered one of the best suburbs in the United States and one of the best cities to retire in. Its population is currently booming, as is the local job industry. The friendly locals make Overland Park feel like home in a short period of time after moving here.

Overland Park has a great job industry and the largest employer is Sprint, who has their worldwide headquarters campus in the city. Other employers include school districts and the service industry is particularly large. Most people will have no problem finding a good job in this part of the United States.

For those with a family, Overland Park has some excellent public schools to choose from and the crime rate is relatively low compared to similar sized cities in the United States. The city also has options for higher education, including Rasmussen College and University of Kansas' Edwards Campus. People interested in shopping can find all they need at local shopping centers such as Oak Park Mall and Hawthorne Plaza. There are also 72 parks within the city limits, offering plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities. All in all, there is a little something for every type of person in Overland Park.
