It's Cold in This Town 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Since I have been living in Knik-Fairview, Alaska, it has been a mediocre experience. Although the there is a stable housing market the neighborhoods are mediocre. This city has a high crime rate, and the weather is terrible. The temperatures are low and do not rise far above 37 ...Read More degrees year round. In the winter the temperatures can drop to -27 Fahrenheit or more.

There are not many amenities in this town and the schools have a low graduation rate. There is a low rate of poverty but finding work is not easy if you are a woman. The men earn almost half as much as women.

I have found that the area is not very diverse, and many residents are from out of state. The main language is English and there are many married couples with children. There is not much to do here besides work and spend time with my family. I occupy the majority of my time at home. Read Less
