Beautiful, safe, and quiet User Rating 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 27, 2020) I love this village!
It's beautiful, safe, serene, friendly, clean, affordable, and has some of the nicest, most caring people here that I have ever met. It's like being back in the "Good Old Days"- almost like living in a Norman Rockwell painting.

True- nightlife, shopping, and major commerce are not very prominent here, but it's close to larger towns that offer a plethora of shops, markets, goods, and services. However, we do have all the basic amenities like a food market (or 2) , gas station, a major bank, a huge, well-equipped Fire Department, Restaurants, and a Post Office- with the nicest, most helpful employees anywhere. Crime and criminal activity is pretty much non-existent.

Sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts here are rewarded with plenty to do- There's a Sportsman's Club, plenty of hunting in the area, the scenery is awesome, there's lots of close-by places to fish, camp, and relax- like Tappan Lake, Friendship Park/Lake, etc. And for motorcyclists (like myself), the roads here seem to go on forever, always with little or no traffic, BUT- watch out for critters on the road!
For the more dedicated motorcyclists and Harley riders, Hopedale has an ABATE-sponsored Motorcycle Memorial for our riding brothers and sisters that have passed on, complete with a memorial wall and pathway filled with the names of those who are now "Riding In The Sky." There are many fine Churches here, and Hopedale is rich in history- including being a "stop" for the Underground Railroad, and historic residents like Clark Gable and General George Armstrong Custer. Hopedale is very "2A friendly," and has a huge, yearly "Gun Bash" in November that draws people from all over.

I've been all over the USA and to many different countries, but have never seen a better place to call my home. Read Less
