The majority of people I have encountered here are nice enough. The job market is terrible and hardly any rentals. Many people who rent live in public housing. The streets are littered with condemned buildings. The price of the rentals that are actually available are too high ...Read More
for this area. It is lower than other areas I lived in but when it is compared to the job market it is overpriced. Frankly, Crisfield is decayed to the point where buildings just need to be torn down. No investment to draw people here and the people who want to live here often have to leave because of lack of resources. Violent crime is rare but drugs are bad. The source of entertainment is visiting the liquor store and ride around with obnoxiously loud vehicles. There is a nice state park near by. Visiting Janes Park was the highlight of living here. Investors have come to Crisfield and tried to buy property on the cheap. Some of these investors have let the buildings rot. Main street is heartbreaking to see. I want this town to succeed but not sure how it is going to be possible. At best, it may take a generation to fix these issues and that is being optimistic.
