Although back in the 60's and 70's this area was mostly known for it's larger homes and yards tucked wit ...Read More hin beautiful old trees, today with the sudden growth spurt of Miramar in the past several years, it extends much farther west, with its city limits ending near the Everglades.

The beauty of Miramar is its location. Situated next to Miami and very close to Ft. Lauderdale, its convenient location makes getting to all the hot spots quite easy. Beaches are also just a short distance from Miramar for fun in the sun. Miramar offers many stores for shopping and is very close to the Pembroke Pines Mall as well as not far from Sawgrass Mills Mall where people flock to find great deals on just about anything. Miramar is also filled with many professional office buildings and is in close proximity to a great variety of restaurants.

The population of Miramar is very mixed with young couples to seniors who have lived here many years. There are also many different ethic groups that live in this vicinity of Broward County, making it an interesting place to live. Read Less

It has an approximate population of more than 130 000 people, most of whom live in their own homes rather than rental units. Miramar's education attributes to excellent public schools and colleges. It also boasts an array of recreational and sporting events, culturally diverse neighborhoods. The transport system in the city is up to the notch while the city's cost of living is high.

      Most Miramar residents own homes since renting houses is expensive. One prefers to buy a house rather than spending many dollars renting a unit every month. More than sixty percent of the residents are homeowners. Homeowners enjoy larger units since the more you pay for a house, the more you are assured of living in a spacious one.

      Miramar's educational standards are better. It has quality public schools and colleges that are found mostly in the outskirts of the Central Business District. They include Sheridan College, St. Thomas University, and Nova High school. Besides, more than half of Miramar's residents have associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees.

      Transportation in Miramar city is much improved. There are free Community Bus Services in the town and paid Bus Rapid Transit. The Transit Operations provides free services to older citizens of the city. Traveling in Miramar city is faster due to efficient train services with several train stations around the city, such as Amtrak. To those who prefer cycling, there are bike trails along the highways, bike-trail maps are readily available online.

      Living in Miramar is costly. The city is a suburb where one will have to dig deeper into their pockets to afford necessary needs. High house prices, expensive health care, and costly goods and services depict high living costs.

      Miramar is one of the most culturally diversified cities in the country. Miramar residents are viewed by many as friendly. The city's population is a mixer of African Americans, who account for most of the population, Hispanic, White, Asian, and other races. The city has more females than males, with older people being more than younger ones.

      The city hosts various attractions, excellent shopping experience, sports activities, and landmarks, and water sports seem to be the major attraction along the beaches. Fishing trips are the most common sports activities, while the Miramar Cultural Center is a significant landmark in the city. The center identifies and appreciates the cultural diversity of Miramar. One can go shopping at Grand Boulevard for an excellent shopping experience.

      Miramar city is proving to be an exciting destination, given its breathtaking attributes. Despite the cost of living being high, the services rendered, including educational, transportation, and recreational, are of good quality.
